We will be insuring the trip through Unity Insurance, which is the company used by The Scouts. When we have full details of the coverage we will share the policy document on the Witan website, but please be aware it may not cover the full cost of some personal items (eg phones) and you may wish to take out additional coverage.

We would insist on all participants having a GHIC if they are eligible, as it means you can access healthcare in Denmark for the same cost as a local resident, which will greatly reduce costs incurred in an emergency

Whilst the SSAGO International necker is not included in the booking price, we will be offering a branded SSAGO international necker in our purchaseable event merchandise range for attendees. You will however get a Witan 2028 event necker as part of your booking, along with an event badge and t-shirt!

Associate years are used when you still have a legitimate connection to SSAGO after you have graduated, so you will be entitled to an additional associate year as you are attending Witan in 2028!

The deposit needs to be paid within 2 weeks of making your booking, if this is a problem, please email us at [email protected], and we can discuss alternate options.

The event is from the 26th August - 3rd September 2028, a Saturday to the following Sunday.

Included in the cost is travel from the UK to Denmark and back, and travel to the places we will be visiting. We will be travelling by coach, with multiple pickup points in the UK. Please note that due to cabotage laws (I'll let you look that up in your own time), participants will have to travel on the coach from the UK to Denmark and back; they can not join the event in Denmark.

Unfortunately SSAGO is not the British Monarch, so we will need all attendees to have a valid passport and any required visa/documentation according to Shengen area rules. We are aware the rules on travel are changing, and we will communicate with participants to ensure they have valid paperwork at the time of travel.
We won't be asking for passport details at the time of booking, but we will need to confirm these details closer to Witan, so please make sure you apply for a passport in plenty of time.

Yes you can! The rule of thumb in SSAGO is that if you were a full member at the time an event was voted in (or if you've joined since the event was elected), you are eligible to go to the event.

We love our SAGGA friends, and would love to have SAGGA on Witan. We will be prioritising SSAGO members who haven't had the opportunity to book on a Witan before, but we hope to open bookings to SAGGA members in the later booking phases, please keep an eye on our website and social media when bookings have opened for updates and information.

The committee went on our first site visit this Summer, and despite some small surprises, we did survive a week there without knowing Danish ourselves! Almost 90% of the Danish population speak English to some extent, so along with the logistics of this trip being sorted for you, you should be completely fine!
